CARLISLE G. PACKARD is chairman of the Nevers, Palazzo,
Maddux & Packard
Real
Estate Law Group. He represents a variety of individual
and institutional clients in a broad range of financing,
development and investment matters. Carlisle’s practice
covers commercial and real estate transactions and public
finance, including representation of developers and lenders
in real estate-secured tax-exempt financing transactions.
Carlisle writes and speaks for a variety of industry and
continuing education organizations. Some published works
include "Basic Issues in Hotel Lending," (California Real
Property Journal, Winter 1999); and "The Mortgagee's Right to
Property Insurance Proceeds," (California Real Property
Journal, Fall 2000). Carlisle's recent speaking engagements
consist of "He Who Holds the Cash is King" (Los Angeles
County Bar Association, September 2004), and "What Happens
if I Don't Get That SNDA?" (Los Angeles County Bar
Association, November 2005).
Carlisle is a member of the Steering Committee of the Real
Estate Finance Subsection of the Real Property Section of
the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Valley Industry
and Commerce Association and the J. Reuben Clark Law Society
(former member of the board of directors of the Los Angeles
Chapter). He does pro bono work for adoptive parents.
Carlisle received his B.A. and J.D. from Brigham Young
University in 1981 and 1986, respectively, where he was an
editor of the Brigham Young University Law Review. Carlisle
formerly practiced with Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro and Cox,
Castle & Nicholson in Los Angeles and was general counsel of
East-West Bank, San Marino, California.
